Each Fall, a new cohort of students begins the MS in Health Care Communication program. If you’re committed to the business of health care, dedicated to a career as a professional communicator and excited about the future of this growing field, we hope you’ll apply. To apply to this program, you must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or an equivalent course of study*) from a regionally accredited U.S. institution (or the international equivalent). We need original transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended, sent directly from the school. The only exception is for advanced placement courses and study abroad transfer credits—we don’t need transcripts for those.

Send via email: If your institution offers electronic transcripts, ask them to email your transcript(s) to gradadmissions@stthomas.edu.

Send via mail: Paper transcripts must be submitted in sealed envelopes and signed by the appropriate university official. Send to:

As part of your online application, you  will  provide  the name and  email address of  two  individuals  who can provide  a recommendation.  Recommenders can be  employers, co-workers or anyone who can speak to your professional abilities and fit for an MS program. 

Your recommender can either fill out our Recommendation Form, or write you a letter that covers this information:

  • Their relationship to you and how long they’ve known you
  • Their impression of your ability to succeed in a graduate business program
  • Your outstanding characteristics, and areas where you need to grow or develop
  • Your present impact on your organization or business
  • How graduate study would influence your professional growth

Once you submit your completed online application, the admissions committee will review it. If you meet the program requirements and demonstrate strong credentials, the admissions team will contact you to schedule an interview.

With our rolling admissions process, applications are welcomed earlier than the priority deadline, and are reviewed once the file is complete. If unable to meet the priority deadline, please contact an admissions representative.

If you’re a military veteran, we’ll waive your application fee. You can also defer your acceptance and any scholarships for one year, if your plans are delayed by your service. In addition, we provide unlimited Yellow Ribbon awards.
