John Del Vecchio is an adjunct faculty member in the Ethics and Business Law Department at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. He’s been practicing law for 30 years from his office in St. Paul.

Del Vecchio uses case studies based on actual cases culled from his law practice and has been able to generate meaningful application to the legal principles discussed in his courses.

In addition, Del Vecchio presents the program of “Field Education” in his courses. This program identifies an experiential learning process that connects business law students to the operation of the American legal system in practice. Students observe volunteer attorneys counsel clients on various legal issues, think about what they saw and write about their experience.

He is a co-author of an article to be presented for publication bearing a working title of, “The Instructor Toolbox: A Collection of Time Tested Active Learning Exercises for Modern Learners.”
