Kathy Jenson, MBA, teaches graduate courses in marketing management, health care marketing, consumer behavior and pricing, and undergraduate classes in market research and the capstone course.

Prior to joining St. Thomas, Jenson held positions as a director of marketing, national sales/area manager, and strategic planning in a number of Fortune 500 and start-up organizations. She currently consults in marketing, strategic planning, and change management with a diverse client base.

In addition to teaching and consulting, she’s been a member of the board of examiners for the Baldrige Performance Excellence program through the US Department of Commerce since 1996. She also served as the master examiner for the American Healthcare Association, which allowed her to visit some of the best health care organizations in the country and provide feedback for their quality performance. In addition, she served as a judge for the US Department of Veterans Affairs Carey Organizational Excellence Award. While she works with all industries, her primary focus in the past five years has been in health care.

Jenson enjoys working with students to help them gain an understanding of marketing as it relates to any type of organization. Her focus is on the customers, markets and strategic marketing planning. She uses her experience in corporate positions and short case studies to help bring an understanding of marketing concepts to the class and apply them to students’ own organizations.
