Jack Militello is a professor in the Department of Management at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. He is a former senior executive fellow in the Center for Innovation in the Business of Health Care and a former director of both the St. Thomas Health Care MBA and Executive MBA programs. Militello holds a PhD in business and applied economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in communications from the University of Colorado and a BA in philosophy from Boston College. He has participated in globalization seminars in England, New Zealand, Holland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Vietnam, Singapore, Nigeria and Hungary. He has also studied Shakespeare at Oxford University. His research has centered on strategic alignment and innovation management. 

Militello has consulted for more than 35 years with a wide range of firms. He has advised firms in the areas of strategy, alliances, mergers and acquisitions, divestiture, business development and more. Noted clients have included DuPont, IBM, Anheuser-Busch, Hubbard Broadcasting, Clark Equipment, Paddock Labs, Definity Health, the state of Tennessee and the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Militello’s current focus is in the health care space. He sits on the boards of Fairview Physicians Associations, Livanta and the Allina Health Institutional Review Board. He is currently working on a number of projects with the Department of Veterans Affairs and with Optum/UnitedHealth Group.
