Janine Sanders Jones, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management. She currently teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Introduction to Operations Management, Statistical Methods for Decision Making and Operations Strategy.

Sanders Jones’ research interests include quality management, process management and organizational culture and retention. Her work has been published in the Decision Sciences Journal, the Journal of World Business, the Business Process Management Journal and the International Journal of Information and Operations Management Education. She has been featured as a panelist and speaker for Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, Minnesota Public Radio, the Theater of Public Policy and other local organizations and media outlets. She has a passion for connecting academia to current, practical business challenges and engaging with regional businesses.

Before joining academia, Sanders Jones worked as an industrial and process engineer for Merck & Co. She has a BS in chemical engineering from Ohio University, an MS in industrial administration from Purdue University and a PhD in business administration with a concentration in operations management from the University of Minnesota.

Sanders Jones’ teaching philosophy is rooted in her belief that effective learning is the result of a student-centered learning environment. She enjoys building relationships with students and finds joy in helping her students uncover the power of data-driven decision making. Her ultimate goal is to help shape students to become successful professionals and good citizens in their communities.
