Richard S. Sathe joined the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business faculty in 1990. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and has taught nearly every course in the general accounting curriculum, including introductory financial and managerial accounting, intermediate accounting and auditing, advanced accounting and international accounting and professional ethics in accounting. In addition, he has taught courses in introduction to business and business ethics. 

Sathe’s research covers different public interest dimensions in the field of accounting. One area of his research is education and professional development of those entering the accounting profession. He also researches accounting and reporting for nonprofit organizations. He has published articles in Accounting Education, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and CPA Journal. 

Sathe received his BA in business administration in accounting and history/political science from Concordia College, his MBA in auditing from the University of Minnesota and his EdD in educational leadership from St. Thomas.
