Jim Shovein is excited to bring his many years of corporate finance experience to the classroom. He teaches strategic finance, corporate finance, fundamentals of financial management and introduction to business courses. His goal is to help students develop great, practical skill sets that emphasize a balance of both technical and communication skills. He hopes his courses will enable students to get outstanding jobs and to find long-term success in their careers.

Shovein’s work experience includes positions as vice president of finance at Best Buy and Ecolab. He is a CPA and holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota. Shovein has also won the Opus College of Business Julie Hayes Teaching Award and is still actively engaged with many outstanding companies in the Twin Cities.
