Julia Van Etten is a customer insights and branding expert who has been using ethnographic research methods for more than 20 years to deliver in-depth consumer insights. Her clients have included 3M, General Mills, Wells Fargo, Hennepin Healthcare, Lund Food Holdings, Otto Bock Health Care, Greater Twin Cities United Way, and William Mitchell College of Law. Julia is a highly skilled interviewer and facilitator, and her proven methods of observation and inquiry result in break-through ideas.

Prior to teaching at the University of St. Thomas, Julia taught marketing at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. In the classroom, she incorporates her expertise in and passion for customer-centric marketing, the customer decision journey, and brand strategy.

Julia received her M.B.A. at the University of Minnesota and her B.A. at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
