K. David Hirschey is the principal of Personnel Management, Inc. The firm provides leadership and support for strategic business planning and organizational design, as well as performance and leadership coaching activities for emerging growth and middle market organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

Hirschey has a diverse blend of technical, organizational design, operations, and analytical expertise. He has more than 40 years of increasing responsibility and leadership with leading manufacturing and consumer foods organizations. In the past 25 years, Hirschey has consulted with more than 450 organizations. His clients include Accenture Consulting, Andersen Windows, Best Buy, Carlson Companies, Children's Home Society, Farmers Home Group, Hutchinson Technology, Jostens, Lutheran Social Service, Medtronic, Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing (3M), Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Target Corporation, Tennant Company, and the United States Postal Service (USPS), as well as several law firms, professional associations, municipalities, colleges, and universities.

Hirschey’s previous industrial experience includes both managerial and executive positions at Xerox Corporation, Frito-Lay, Inc. and General Mills, Inc. Additionally, he was was the principal in the management consulting firm of Hirschey Associates, Los Gatos, Cal., a firm that provides business development counsel throughout the U.S. with an emphasis on assisting clients to identify opportunities, develop growth strategies and implement interventions for their organizations. Hirschey has written articles on negotiations, leadership, motivation and consulting. He has given numerous public and private seminars, and provided testimony as both an advocate and an expert witness in litigation proceedings. Hirschey has been recognized as both a human resources and a forensic economic expert.

Hirschey has served on the board and as president of the Twin Cities – Society of Human Resource Management (TC-SHRM), one of the largest organizations of its kind in North America. He is an associate professor or an adjunct faculty instructor at several U.S. and international universities, teaching courses in business and leadership.
