Business Learning Through Service

At St. Thomas, critical learning often happens outside the classroom. Business 200 (BUSN 200) is a service learning course required for all undergraduate business students. Students complete 40 hours of volunteer service in the community, and reflect on what they’ve learned in a series of in-class discussions. Through this experience, you’ll gain valuable skills and an enhanced understanding of social issues, which strengthens your development as an effective and principled business leader.

Declaring Your Major

As a first- and second-year undergraduate business student, you'll take a combination of core business and liberal arts courses, which gives you a solid, general foundation of business knowledge. As early as the second semester of your first year, you can choose an area of concentration. Not sure which major is the best fit for you? Your faculty advisor can help you determine the major that best aligns with your academic interests, talents and professional goals.
