Nearly all incoming first-year students receive an institutional commitment in the form of an award or scholarship from the University of St. Thomas. Explore the possibilities and discover exciting scholarship programs to shape your college career.

For Incoming Students

Schulze Innovation Scholarship Program

The Schulze School of Entrepreneurship awards multiple four-year, full-tuition scholarships to students with proven entrepreneurship potential. This one-of-a-kind experience nurtures students into innovative, entrepreneurial leaders, and helps to launch their careers.

Eligibility:

  • Prospective first-year students who have applied to St. Thomas
  • Intend to major in Entrepreneurship
  • Preference given to students with a high school GPA of 3.5 or greater

Timeline: Apply by January 6, 2025 and be invited to attend the Schulze Innovation Program Test Day held Feb. 22, 2025. Scholarship recipients are notified in March.

Schulze Innovation Scholarship Program

GHR Fellows Program

The GHR Fellows program is a highly competitive, transformational undergraduate experience. Fellows receive full-tuition scholarships to the University of St. Thomas and customized programming designed to deliver leadership experiences.

Eligibility:

  • Prospective first-year students who have applied to St. Thomas
  • Intend to major in business
  • Preference given to students with a high school GPA of 3.7 or greater
  • Embody the mission and values of the University of St. Thomas and GHR

Timeline: Apply by January 6, 2025 and be invited to attend the GHR Fellows Program Test Day held Feb. 22, 2025. Scholarship recipients are notified in March.

Fauth Business Scholarship

The Fauth Business Scholarship awards $10,000 to deserving recipients who intend to major in business. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Eligibility:

  • Prospective first-year students who have applied to St.Thomas
  • Intend to major in business
  • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.7

Timeline: Apply by January 6, 2025 and be invited to attend the Fauth Business Scholarship Test Day held Feb. 22, 2025. The scholarship recipients will be notified in March.

Willis Drake Young Entrepreneurship Scholarship

The Willis Drake Young Entrepreneurship Scholarship recognizes prospective first-year students who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial potential and intend to major in business with a concentration in entrepreneurship. Scholarship recipients are awarded $2,000 for their first year of studies.

Eligibility:

  • Prospective first-year students who have applied to St. Thomas
  • Intend to major in business

O’Neill Finance Scholars Program

The O'Neill Finance Scholars Program offers you a game-changing four-year, full-tuition scholarship designed to develop innovative leaders who will make a meaningful impact in global finance. The program is dedicated to providing you with the crucial skills and insights needed to excel in competitive financial careers, ensuring you are well-prepared to become transformative professionals in the financial sector.

Eligibility:

  • Admitted first-year students who have applied to St. Thomas
  • Intend to major in Financial Management
  • GPA of 3.2 or greater
  • Embody the mission and values of the University of St. Thomas and the O’Neill Finance Scholars Program
  • Preference given to first generation students and students with financial need

Timeline: Apply by March 17, 2025. Scholarship recipients are notified in April.

O’Neill Finance Scholars Program

For Current Students

Opus Foundation Real Estate Scholarship

The Opus Foundation Real Estate Scholarship awards $20,000 to current students intending to major in real estate studies. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years of undergraduate study.

Eligibility:

  • Current St. Thomas students
  • Intend to major in real estate
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5

Application Timeline: Apply by April 3, 2025.

Opus Real Estate Scholarship

Murray and Ruth Harpole Scholarships

Funded by gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Murray Harpole; Mr. Harpole was one of the founders of and served as CEO of the Pentair Corporation. The Murray and Ruth Harpole Scholarships award up to $5,000 to current students. Involvement in the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization will be important for consideration.

Eligibility:

  • Students who will be juniors or seniors after the 2024-2025 academic year (Seniors graduating in May of 2025 are not eligible.)
  • Must be a declared major in entrepreneurship
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 required

Application Deadline: Apply by March 14, 2025.

Fowler Business Concept Challenge

Focused on energizing the entrepreneurial spirit of St. Thomas students from across campus, the Fowler Business Concept Challenge encourages students to explore their potential, search out new opportunities and use the skills and knowledge they have acquired to make a difference in the world. The Fowler encourages students to act on their ideas and develop business proposals that have potential to become viable, high-growth companies.

Eligibility:

  • Current St. Thomas undergraduates or graduate students

Timeline: Submissions are due in late October, finalists are announced in early November and the semifinals and finals competitions are held in late November.

Accounting Department Scholarship

The Accounting Department awards merit-based scholarships funded by corporations, public accounting firms, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Twins Cities Chapter of CFMA, and private donors, as well as two scholarships that honor the memory of two accounting faculty members: Frank J. Coglitore, whose specialty was auditing, and Patrick McGowan, who taught tax accounting. Contact Dr. Wen Yu for additional information.

Eligibility:

  • Current St. Thomas students
  • Declared as a major in accounting by March 2025
  • Attain at least sophomore standing by the start of fall semester 2025

Application Deadline: Apply by March 7, 2025. Recipients will be notified of award at the Accounting Club Banquet on May 1, 2025.

Schulze Entrepreneurship Scholarships

The Schulze Entrepreneurship Scholarship recognizes two outstanding students who have demonstrated a passion for entrepreneurship as a career aspiration. The scholarship of $5,000 is renewable each year, as long as the student remains in good academic standing and continues to demonstrate a commitment to entrepreneurship. If you are a declared entrepreneurship major and did not receive the application and would like to apply, please email cobundergrad@stthomas.edu.

Eligibility:

  • Students who will be sophomores, juniors or seniors after the 2024-2025 academic year (Seniors graduating in May of 2025 are not eligible)
  • Must be a declared major in entrepreneurship
  • Demonstrate a passion for entrepreneurship as a career aspiration
  • Must have and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher

Timeline: An email with the application will be sent to all students majoring in entrepreneurship from Opus College of Business in the spring semester, inviting them to apply. Apply by March 14, 2025.
