Develop Your Professional Expertise

Health Care MBA Academic Experience

Designed for Busy Health Care Professionals

Meet your specific educational goals while balancing a full-time career and other personal commitments with our hybrid Health Care MBA program. This 21-month program combines interactive online coursework and instruction with occasional on-campus classes and other in-person seminars and events.

Build strong relationships and enhance your learning experience at three-day sessions on our Minneapolis campus approximately every two months. These concentrated, face-to-face experiences with faculty and fellow students introduce each course and provide opportunities for:

  • Interactive group exercises
  • Case studies
  • Guest speakers
  • Professional development
  • Exploring hot topics in health care

Between campus visits, enjoy the flexibility of online coursework and class meetings. There are no set class times, so you can accomplish your coursework according to your own schedule. Faculty use a variety of tools throughout their courses to give you opportunities for direct interaction and group discussion.

Through it all, connect and collaborate with a steady cohort of talented peers in a team-based environment designed for busy health care professionals. Get additional support from personal coaching and executive-style concierge services.

Build Real-World Skills

Our instructors don’t just prepare you for the final exam—they equip you with the practical knowledge and skills you need to succeed outside the classroom. Our applied learning model uses group projects, case studies, simulations, guest speakers and more to prepare you for your next work assignment or career opportunity.
More About Applied Learning

On-campus Residency

To kick off the Health Care MBA program, you’ll attend a three-day residency on the St. Thomas Minneapolis campus to meet your faculty and staff and fellow students while starting your first-session courses.

Once per session (about every two months), you’ll spend three days in an on-campus residency, with interactive group exercises, case studies, guest speakers and special programs that focus on professional development and current hot topics in health care.

Online Collaborative Learning

Between on-campus residencies, all coursework and class meetings are conducted online. Our hybrid program helps you meet your educational goals while balancing a full-time career and other personal commitments. There are no set class times online, so you can accomplish your coursework on your own schedule. But you won’t be without support—you’ll stay in touch with faculty and your cohort through online group discussions.

Your Own Learning Community

Our Health Care MBA program is built upon a cohort learning model. As part of a 25-35 student cohort, you’ll form strong personal and intellectual connections with the same group of health care professionals as you move together through the program.

You and your peers will draw upon your diverse experiences to provide meaningful examples and real-life case studies to course dialogue and team projects. Plus, your cohort will be a valuable network and resource pool long after graduation.
