Leadership Team

The leadership team at the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas is committed to advancing the mission of the college – to develop effective, principled business leaders who think globally, act ethically and create enduring value for society.

This diverse team of deans, faculty chairs and advisory board members work together to set effective strategies and build a culture that inspires excellence and innovation among our students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

01 Dean and Opus Distinguished Chair

Stefanie Lenway

Dean Lenway began her tenure at the Opus College of Business in 2014. Lenway is recognized as an expert in the field of international trade policy, multinational competitive strategy, and global technology innovation, and she has more than 30 years of experience as a scholar and teacher, in addition to academic leadership roles. Under Lenway’s leadership, the college renewed its strategic focus on principled leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the business of health care.  The Opus College is now embarking upon a new initiative to engage faculty, staff, and students in activities that promote business for the Common Good.

Michael Garrison

Senior Associate Dean

Michael J. Garrison is the Senior Associate Dean in the Opus College of Business. He is responsible for AACSB accreditation, faculty development, research initiatives, and the quality and integrity of the college’s academic programs, including assessment of student learning. He joined the college in 2005 as a professor of business law and served as the chair of the Department of Ethics and Business Law from 2007-09.

Carleen Kerttula

Associate Dean, Graduate Programs and Strategic Outreach

Carleen Kerttula oversees graduate program operations for the Opus College, ensuring a high quality student experience from admissions through graduation. She also leads strategic outreach efforts, including marketing, graduate admissions and recruiting, corporate and alumni relations, and career services.  An 18-year veteran of graduate management education, she joined the college in 2015 following leadership roles at the MBA Roundtable and the University of Minnesota.

Lisa Abendroth

Associate Dean, Graduate Program Innovation

Lisa Abendroth oversees new program development and champions innovative teaching formats within the Opus College. She partners with faculty to develop and deliver transformational teaching methods and meaningfully embed educational technology into course delivery. Lisa joined the Opus College faculty in 2007 after a successful career at Boston University where she served as a marketing professor and faculty director for the Professional Evening MBA program.

Laura Dunham

Associate Dean, Schulze School of Entrepreneurship

Laura Dunham drives entrepreneurship and innovation education at the Opus College in her role as Associate Dean of the Schulze School. She works with a team of faculty and staff to deliver curricular and co-curricular experiences to St. Thomas students to develop their innovative mindset. She joined St. Thomas in 2003 from the University of Virginia, where she earned her Ph.D. and M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business.

Georgia Fisher

Assistant Dean, Director of Undergraduate Programs

As assistant dean of the undergraduate business program, Georgia Fisher is responsible for delivering a high quality experience for undergraduate students enrolled at the Opus College. She oversees a team that supports academic operations, recruitment efforts, co-curricular offerings, and advising. Georgia was named assistant dean in 2007.

Jacque Anderson

Assistant Dean, Executive Education

Jacque Anderson leads innovation, development and growth of non-degree executive education programs. In her capacity, Jacque is responsible for design and delivery of open-enrollment programs for individuals, as well as partnering with organizations for custom leadership development programs. A former chief learning officer, Jacque joined St. Thomas in 2014. She brings to her position more than 25 years of management experience from various areas of finance, strategy and executive development.
