Opportunities for High School Students

The Schulze School of Entrepreneurship’s engagement goes beyond the college classroom. We’re here for seasoned leaders, budding entrepreneurs and those who spread entrepreneurship in their communities.

Each year, the Schulze School offers specialized programs to engage high school students. These programs focus on teaching these students to think creatively, to solve problems important to their communities and to start building a foundation of entrepreneurship. We invite students and their teachers to get a taste of the unique way St. Thomas teaches entrepreneurship, and to bring it back to their schools and communities and make a difference.

Jump in and discover your inner entrepreneur!

The Schulze School invites you and up to four students from your high school to join us for this unique, fast-paced, one-day event where you’ll learn creative problem solving, critical thinking, ideation and more—all the elements you need to think like an entrepreneur or become a successful innovator.

You will attend a hands-on workshop in design thinking and ideation and collaborate with other entrepreneurial-minded students to create a prototype for a business concept. The day will conclude with the opportunity to watch current St. Thomas students pitch business ideas at one of our signature competition events.

This opportunity is open to all high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. We’ll provide the food, fun and unique learning experience at no cost.

This event will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the University of St. Thomas St. Paul Campus.

Registration opens in September, for more information, email schulzeschool@stthomas.edu.

It’s never too early to start planning your future, and we have an amazing opportunity for you to consider. The Schulze Innovation Scholarship Program is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship and premier academic program. This one-of-a-kind experience nurtures students as they become innovative, entrepreneurial leaders, and helps them launch their careers. This highly competitive scholarship program accepts 10 incoming students into the cohort each year.

The Schulze School of Entrepreneurship is proud to sponsor BestPrep's Minnesota Business Venture, a weeklong business and career development summer camp that brings together students in grades 9-12 to learn business, leadership, and financial literacy skills.

Students work in small teams or “companies” to create a fictitious product and business plan that is presented at the end of the session, Shark Tank-style. Other activities include guest keynote speakers, games, mock interviews, team-building exercises, breakout sessions, and more!
