Juggling It All With A Smile

Being a new mom, MBA student and entrepreneur makes for a busy lifestyle, but Alex VandeHei wouldn't change it for anything. She started the MBA program in 2015 and pursued her Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP) at St. Thomas in 2017. Given her positive experience in the Part-time MBA program, she knew Executive Education would also deliver a strong learning experience.

“I knew I’ve always wanted to start my own business, and the CDMP program gave me the confidence to do so,” she said. Shortly after, she started her digital marketing company HeiProDigital. “Having a digital marketing certification gives me credibility with my clients.”

Overall, the CDMP program provides a high-level overview of all things digital marketing. Developing a solid digital marketing strategy is particularly important when navigating the intricacies of online marketing. “As a small business owner, knowing how to brainstorm opportunities and prioritizing them has been one of the most valuable takeaways,” she said.

“The Search and Display and Email deep dives are the most beneficial to me when I work with my clients,” VandeHei added. She uses many of the tools learned in the program on a daily basis. Although these two deep dives were her favorite, each deep dive has given her skills to be a successful and well-rounded digital marketer.

VandeHei has recommended this program to others because it’s been extremely beneficial in pivoting her career. “This program provides the foundational skills for anyone that wants to change their role or step up their marketing game.”
