Applied Learning

Our Graduate Certificate in Global Business instructors don’t just prepare you for the final exam—they equip you with the practical knowledge and skills you need to succeed outside the classroom. Our applied learning model uses group projects, case studies, simulations, guest speakers, and more to prepare you for your next work assignment or career opportunity. Plus, you’ll witness global business in action on a 7- to 12-day study abroad trip. At St. Thomas, you learn by doing.

Traditional vs. Hybrid Courses

Choose from traditional on-campus classes, or courses that take place both in person and online. These hybrid courses can offer greater scheduling flexibility and feature the latest online instructional technologies to complement less-frequent classroom sessions. If you take a hybrid course, you’ll stay engaged thorough web-based presentations and interactions with peers and faculty during the weeks between on-campus meetings.

How Often Will You Attend Class?

During the fall and spring semesters, traditional courses usually meet one weeknight per week (M – Th) from roughly 6 to 9 p.m. Summer courses typically meet on weeknights from late May to August, from 5:30 to 9:45 p.m. J-term classes usually meet once a week (M – Th), and all-day Saturday throughout January.
