Get Started on Your Health Care MBA Journey

Be part of an elite group of health care professionals. The Health Care MBA program selects a high-quality student body that is diverse in academic backgrounds, job functions and employing organizations.

To qualify for the program, our admissions committee will assess criteria that measures your demonstrated and potential abilities, including:

  • Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in the health care industry
  • Academics: A strong academic background to ensure that you’re ready to meet the demands of our rigorous curriculum.
  • Program Fit: Ability to link the curriculum to your professional objectives and participate effectively in the shared learning cohort model.

To apply to this program, you must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution (or the international equivalent). We need original transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you have attended, sent directly from the school. The only exception is for advanced placement courses and study abroad transfer credits—we don’t need transcripts for those.

Send via email: If your institution offers electronic transcripts, ask them to email your transcript(s) to gradadmissions@stthomas.edu.

Send via mail: Paper transcripts must be submitted in sealed envelopes and signed by the appropriate university official. Send to:

As part of your online application, you will provide the name and email address of two individuals who can provide a recommendation. Recommenders can be employers, co-workers or anyone who can speak to your professional abilities and fit for an MBA program.

Your recommenders can either fill out our Recommendation Form, or write you a letter that covers this information:

  • Their relationship to you and how long they’ve known you
  • Their impression of your ability to succeed in a graduate business program
  • Your outstanding characteristics, and areas where you need to grow or develop
  • Your present impact on the recommender’s organization or business
  • How graduate study would influence your professional growth

Once you submit your completed online application, the admissions committee will review it. If you meet the program requirements and demonstrate strong credentials, the admissions team will contact you to schedule an interview.

Admissions Process

With our rolling admissions process, applications are welcomed earlier than the priority deadlines, and are reviewed once the file is complete.

Application Deadlines for Fall

  • Preferred deadline: January 15th
  • Tuition lock deadline: March 1st
  • Priority scholarship consideration deadline: May 15th
  • Rolling admission May through August

Tuition & Fees

Total program cost at current tuition rates

Program Cost $75,000 

Program cost includes:

  • All tuition and fees
  • All books and materials
  • Executive-style inclusive services
  • International residency and Durenberger Health Policy Seminar (lodging, most meals, transportation to official visits, group activities)*
  • Health fee per term
  • Parking costs for on-campus sessions

* Airfare for the international residency and policy seminar is not covered by the program and is your responsibility.


While funds are limited, we do award scholarships to some Health Care MBA students based on need and merit. For more information, please get in touch.

Support for Veterans

If you're a military veteran, we'll waive your application fee. You can also defer your acceptance and any scholarships for one year, if your plans are delayed by your service. In addition, we provide unlimited Yellow Ribbon awards.
