Michael Sarafolean is an owner, founder and the managing partner of the Orion Corporation of Minnesota. The Orion Corporation provides residential services and support to children and adults with disabilities. Established in 1987, the Orion Corporation has service locations in the Twin Cities and Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Sarafolean has more than 35 years of experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations serving people with disabilities. He has been involved in many start-up ventures in areas ranging from desktop publishing to food service.

Sarafolean currently teaches Entrepreneurship in Practice, a hands-on, internship-based course. His greatest interest is in working with early-stage companies both at the University of St. Thomas and as part of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Accelerator program. In addition to teaching at St. Thomas since 1999, he has also taught graduate classes at St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis.
