Hands-On Learning. Real-World Experience.
MS in Health Care Innovation Applied Learning
Experience a Dynamic Integration of Theory and Professional Practice
The St. Thomas MS in Health Care Innovation is based on collaborative learning. Your instructors offer background information in class, while fellow students contribute their own experiences from a broad range of industries. You’ll pass insights back and forth, allowing new knowledge and shared best practices to emerge.
Gain Experience with Practical Exercises, a Personal Mentor and a Capstone Project
Develop your innovative approach to health care strategy with hands-on, applied learning experiences including group projects, case studies, simulations, guest speakers, and more.
In your first semester, you’ll identify a job or role you aspire to hold in 5-10 years and work one-on-one with program faculty to determine a mentor. Once the mentor is identified, you’ll spend time building a relationship with them. During your spring semester, you’ll work with your mentor to identify a problem they’re currently facing, an opportunity within your own organization or another challenge of interest to develop your final project together.
In your final semester, you’ll focus on the all-encompassing capstone project to answer the current industry problem identified with your mentor. After presenting the project to your instructors and peers, you can take it with you to demonstrate your abilities to current and future employers. The capstone project fully captures your mastery of gained skills within a real work context and explores your ability to create change through innovative processes.
